WRITER & DIRECTOR - ELAINE WICKHAM

Elaine wrote and directed the short film, MY MOTHER, (starring Susannah Harker, Joanna Scanlan & Georgia Groome), as well as the twenty minute short film, GASLIGHTING (starring Stephen Graham & Hannah Walters).  MY MOTHER was funded by Screen South and the UK Film Council through the Digital Shorts programme. The short film was selected in competition at festivals worldwide, winning Best Short Film at the London Independent Film FestivalBest Director at Euroshorts Film Festival and Special Jury Mention at the A Corto di DonneBusho and Houston International Film Festivals. It was also screened at Brief Encounters, Isle of Wight, Rushes Soho and Cracow Film Festivals. GASLIGHTING was produced for an online child abuse awareness campaign. It has had over 500,000 online views to date, and over sixty 5-star survivor reviews. It is being used by many charities, including Childline.

GASLIGHTING ambassadors include Mike Leigh and Clint Mansell, among many others. BEING SHAME will be Elaine's third short film as writer/director and her second social impact film produced by Impart Pictures. 

Before embarking on a new career in writing and directing, Elaine was lead producer on three feature films, GYPO (starring Paul McGann), RUBY BLUE (starring Bob Hoskins) and THE CALLING (starring Brenda Blethyn). After producing three feature films and a number of short films she became Vice President of Productions at London Umedia, where she worked on a vast slate of feature films. Umedia is one of Europe’s leading production groups, combining the activities of production, financing and visual effects. Umedia has invested more than $670 million via its tax shelter funds, and has been involved in more than, 500 films including WHAT HAPPENED TO MONDAY, GRACE OF MONACO, YVES SAINT LAURENT and multi-Academy Award-winning THE ARTIST. 

As Producer, Elaine won the Outstanding Achievement in Production award at BRITISH INDEPENDENT FILM AWARDS for her first feature GYPO and Best Feature at the Frameline Film Festival, as well as the numerous cast awards internationally. GYPO was sold worldwide, and was distributed in the UK by Lionsgate. Elaine’s second feature, RUBY BLUE, won a number of festival awards, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Washington DC Independent Film Festival, Best Actor at the Oxford International Film Festival and Best British Feature Film at the London Independent Film Festival. Her third and final production, THE CALLING, premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival and was theatrically released in the UK in 2010. 

Elaine has also been selected on various high profile talent initiatives, including Guiding Lights and Cine-Euro, and was the British EFP Producer on the Move in Cannes in 2008. She left Umedia in 2016 and is no longer producing films. She is now fully focused on writing and directing.   

 

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY - JOHN PIGGOT

John has worked on a number of film and TV productions as both camera operator, Steadicam Operator and DOP. His credits include GASLIGHTING, POLDARK, NEW TRICKS, VERA, THE ROYALS, BY ANY MEANS, YOUNG DRACULA and BAD GIRLS. Dailys and 2nd Unit credits include In THE CLUB, STELLA, SILK, LAW AND ORDER, DA VINCI'S DEMONS, THE FADES, HUSTLE and SKINS. 

 

COSTUME DESIGNER - DEBBIE ELLIS

Trained in make-up at London College of Fashion in 2001, Deborah swiftly transferred to costume design when she started her Vintage clothes business Madam Popoff Vintage in 2003. Since then she's worked with Oscar winning directors and costume designers, as well as providing styling and vintage clothing for fashion shoots and campaigns. These include including Andrea Arnold, Jaqueline Durran and Apple TV. Her vintage shop has also sold to Sharon Stone and Alexa Chung. Debbie's credits include, GASLIGHTING, DOG and HAPPY WANDERER. 

 

PRODUCTION DESIGNER - AMY HOOPER

Amy has a B.A. Hons Degree in Art & Design and has trained at the Film Design Institute at Pinewood Studios and at Central St. Martins. She has worked in a variety of roles in various departments on feature films, short films, commercials and music. Her credits include GASLIGHTING, THE CALLING, GULLIVER'S TRAVELS, CHILDCARE, II DIVO, DREAMLAND, THE OTHER ME and TUESDAY.

 

MAKE-UP DESIGNER - RICCI-LEE BERRY

Ricci-Lee is a film makeup, hair & prosthetic artist.  She has worked in the UK, New Zealand and Europe on a wide range of feature films, television series and music videos. Her credits include Peter Jackson’s trilogy THE HOBBIT, HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 1 & 2, Danny Boyle’s YESTERDAY, OUTLAW KING and THE WATER DIVINER. She has worked with a variety of actor’s including Luke Evans, Sir Ian Holm and Rebel Wilson.
